TJB Super Yachts is proud to partner with Blue Marine Foundation, a UK based charity founded in 2010. It is their mission to see 30 per cent of the world’s ocean under effective protection by 2030, and the further 70 per cent managed in a responsible way. With backing from global business leaders and influential partnerships, Blue Marine is surging forward with marine conservation at a fast and powerful pace by tackling unsustainable fishing, restoring marine habitats, and developing new fishing solutions. TJB Super Yachts are proud to be working alongside them and taking responsibility for the oceans we all share.
OVERFISHING IS A GLOBAL CRISIS
Overfishing is a crisis which affects the entire planet, and everyone on it. Not only does it affect the food security of millions of people, but by stripping the oceans of life and reducing their ability to produce oxygen, overfishing – along with climate change, acidification, pollution, and invasive species – could have catastrophic consequences for the world’s climate. It is estimated that almost 94% of commercial fish stocks are overexploited, and of large predatory fish such as sharks, over 90% have been obliterated. The repercussions of this are just beginning and we strongly feel that now is the time to act boldly and passionately.
THE BLUE MARINE YACHT CLUB UNITES THE SUPERYACHT INDUSTRY
The Blue Marine Yacht Club was launched by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco in 2012 with the mission to unite the international yachting community. TJB Super Yachts are proud members of this elite group of some of the most influential yachting businesses in the industry, from superyacht charter and sales brokerages to yacht designers, architects, shipyards and more. We not only offer donations to projects happening across the planet, but we invite our charterers and owners to get involved too. Through close and active collaboration with the ground-breaking work being undertaken by The Blue Marine Yacht Club we hope to create a better and more sustainable approach to fishing and our oceans for future generations.
It is through strong institutional partnerships, such as the one between my Foundation and the Blue Marine foundation that we can fight against climate change and manage our natural resources responsibly.
